In a December 2019 report, the Maryland Office of Legislative Audits (OLA) recommended the board overseeing Maryland 529 order a forensic audit after finding that the state agency suffered from weak oversight, poor record-keeping practices and high staff turnover...OLA also found the fund was too liberal with how it calculated interest rate payments….
