Speaker(s): Joe Aspen MAIF SIU manager and President of the MD/DC Anti Car Theft Committee Having spent 28 plus years at the Maryland Automobile Insurance Fund (MAIF), Joe has held most claim positions, including appraiser, field claim representative, and casualty supervisor, in 1998, he was promoted to Manager of the Special Investigations Unit. Since taking charge of the department, Joe has expanded from a six member to a fourteen member team. He has worked to develop a case management system and a paperless document system for his unit. The MAIF SIU is recognized as one of the leaders in the mid-Atlantic region. Joe has held various positions with MD-DC ACT and was elected President in 2007. In addition to his work in auto theft, he is involved with NICB Area 6 Major Medical Task Force and other fraud fighting agencies. Joe has been a longtime supporter of the CFE, including their Annual Golf Tournament, which is one of his favorite pastimes.
